Glenfeshie Lodge and Estate.
Part of history. Part of Scotland

____________________

Glenfeshie Lodge was built by the Grants of Ballindaloch in the early 1800‘s. With the introduction of the Highland railroad to Kingussie in 1865 it became part of the Victorians playground, operating as an exclusive hunting lodge.

Entering through the old front door of the lodge you’ll experience two simultaneous feelings. The first is pure excitement about stepping into a living part of Scottish history. Perfectly kept. Original and authentic by a laird that has updated the lodge with a mixture of respect for what is there and a good eye for the extraordinary that you’ll not find anywhere else. The second feeling is the one of letting go of whatever was on your mind and instead preparing it to take in the calm of the house and prepare for complete relaxation.

Over the years the solid stone walls have sheltered many personalities from the cold winter storms and rainy Highland days. It is said Queen Victoria lived here for some time during a fling with the painter Edward Lanseer who at that time  was making studies for his famous “Monarch of the Glen” painting. In modern times the lodge has seen the Crown Prince of Denmark, actors such as likes of Dame Helen Mirren as well as the cast of famous series like “The Crown” and “The Queen”.
